Our understanding of your nutrition needs on dialysis has evolved over the years -especially recently with a more plant-based focus.
As a Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition my goal is to reach more people and have a larger impact on the chronic kidney disease community.

Maria has a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition, has completed 1,200 hours of supervised practice through an accredited dietetic internship program, and passed a national exam to obtain her dietitian credential. To maintain this credential requires 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years.
Additionally Maria is a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR) which requires 2,000 hours practice experience and passing of a national exam every five years to maintain the credential.
All articles are written based on Maria’s 18+ years of experience as a renal dietitian and based on current literature and research. Our content includes references to peer-reviewed research articles, academic text books, or websites you can trust (from government or academic institutions). The Dialysis Dietitian is about science and not popularity, click-bait, or trends.
